Most people think addiction is the substance. It is not. The substance is the delivery method.
What you are really hooked by is the state change. The relief. The quiet. The numbing. The shutdown. The distance from what you do not want to feel.
That is why you can be doing fine on the outside, and then one moment hits — stress, loneliness, shame, pressure, anger, emptiness — and suddenly you are already moving toward the old routine before you have even made a decision.
That is not random.
That is not bad character.
That is not you being broken.
That is conditioning.
Your brain learned that this thing equals relief. And once the brain links relief to survival, it keeps reaching for the same answer even when that answer is destroying your life.
That is why I say this clearly and repeatedly:
You keep doing it. You don’t know why.
It’s not you. It’s the program.
Work with Robert Gene.
Change the program.
The pattern stops.
That is the missing explanation for so many people stuck in the same loop.
